TREK VOYAGERS PH is a pioneering Events–Travel & Tours organization in the Philippines dedicated to responsible hiking, mountaineering, and community-based outdoor experiences.
Our journey traces back to Mount Tanawan in Doña Remedios Trinidad (DRT), Bulacan, following the mountain’s early exploration by Highlander Outdoors in 2008. From our beginnings in 2019, TREK VOYAGERS PH became one of the early groups to organize structured hiking events in the DRT area, helping make its mountain trails more accessible to the hiking community while promoting safe climbing practices, environmental awareness, and support for local communities.
But our work was never simply about reaching a summit. We believed that mountains should offer choices, not limitations. Throughout our years of organizing hikes, we developed and introduced different trail options that allowed trekkers to experience the mountains according to their own capabilities, preparation, and goals. Rather than forcing every hiker into the same definition of difficulty, we embraced the idea that every person has a different pace, a different capacity, and a different reason for climbing. For us, hiking is a liberating experience—one where the trail challenges you, but also gives you the freedom to discover how far you can go.
With years of hands-on experience organizing mountain events across DRT, Bulacan, and Northern Luzon, our exploration eventually took us beyond familiar trails. In 2023, TREK VOYAGERS PH, together with our exploration partners, ventured into the mountains of Maria Aurora, Aurora Province, to study and document a lesser-known peak that would later become known to the hiking community as Mount Kuntil. Located in Barangay Villa, Maria Aurora. The municipality of Maria Aurora itself now recognizes Mount Kuntil among its tourism destinations. Our 2023 expedition was more than an ordinary climb. It was an exploration and route-documentation effort—studying the terrain, understanding the existing local paths, observing the mountain’s natural features, and working with people who knew the area long before it became a destination for hikers. At the time, Mount Kuntil was still largely unknown within the wider hiking community. Local accounts associated the mountain with the name Tanawan or Tanauan, referring to the commanding views from its upper slopes. The mountain also serves an important role for the surrounding lowland community, including as a source of water for household use and agricultural activities. Our 2023 exploration helped chart and document the route, creating a clearer understanding of the mountain’s terrain and its potential as a responsible outdoor destination. But introducing a mountain to hikers comes with a responsibility.
To discover a place is not to claim it. To open a trail is not to own it. And to bring people into a community is to become responsible for how they enter it.
That became one of the most important lessons of our experience. The mountain already had its own story, its own people, and its own relationship with the surrounding communities long before we arrived. Our role was simply to listen, learn, document, and share the journey responsibly. The same philosophy guided our work with Mount Kasay-Kasay in DRT, Bulacan. Rather than treating the mountain simply as another destination to add to a list, we saw an opportunity to create a hiking experience that connected adventure with the people who live around the trail. Through structured events and local partnerships, these mountain experiences created opportunities for local guides, trail communities, and small local stakeholders to participate in and benefit from responsible outdoor tourism. Because for TREK VOYAGERS PH, a successful climb isn’t measured only by how many people reach the summit. It is also measured by how many people are empowered along the way.
What sets TREK VOYAGERS PH apart is the foundation from which it grew. Our team is proudly backed by the U.P. Mountaineers tradition—a heritage that shaped our understanding of discipline, preparedness, technical skills, safety, camaraderie, and respect for the outdoors. That experience taught us that mountaineering is not simply about conquering mountains. It is about understanding them. It is about knowing when to push forward and when to turn back. Knowing how to move through a trail without destroying it. Knowing that the people who live beside a mountain are part of its story. And knowing that every adventure carries a responsibility beyond ourselves. From those roots, TREK VOYAGERS PH grew from a group organizing mountain experiences into a movement built around adventure, community, stewardship, and purpose.
Today, we continue to explore new trails, document lesser-known places, work alongside local communities, and create experiences that invite people to discover the Philippines beyond the usual destinations. Because we don’t simply want to take people to a mountain or bring them to another place. We want them to understand the story behind it to see why these mountains, these places, and the communities that call them home matter. And through every journey, we hope to leave more than memories behind a deeper appreciation for the land, respect for its people, and a reason to care for the places we are privileged to explore.

From managing logistics and guiding hikers through challenging terrains, to leading community outreach initiatives and supporting indigenous communities their contribution goes far beyond the trail.
